Diogenes

The encounter between the philosopher Diogenes (412-323 b. C.) and Alexander the Great is the symbol of the Hotel Villa Eden.
Legend has it that Alexander asked the sage to become his counselor in exchange for great wealth. Diogenes refused and asked the Emperor to move and to leave, as he was standing in the sun making him shadow.
For Diogenes peace and quietness were indispensable values in life and today this scene is still represented on the facade of our hotel: just like Diogenes in his barrel, our guests enjoy the peace and tranquility of one of the most sunny and central sites in Corvara.
